The Diploma in Travel and Tourism

The Diploma in Travel and Tourism has been developed in response to employer demands for better skilled and employable young people. This work has been carried out by the Diploma Development Partnership (DDP) of People 1st, the sector skills council for the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industries, and Goskills, the sector skills council for passenger transport.

The Diploma in Travel and Tourism, as with all other Diplomas, will appeal to students of all abilities and aspirations, who like to learn about subjects in ways that relate to real life. The qualifications are designed for students aged 14-19 and are set to become one of the three main education choices - alongside GCSEs/A levels and Apprenticeships.

They combine theory and practice to equip students with the skills, knowledge and experience they need for success at college, university and at work.
