Valuable IAG and teaching resources for practitioners

The Diploma Development Partnership is developing resource packs for teachers that cover specifications at all three levels of the Diploma which will feature on the careers sites of People 1st www.uksp.co.uk and GoSkills www.careersinpassengertransport.org.

The resource packs will include:

  • A matrix of links to the qualification
  • Suggested schemes of work
  • Teachers’ guide
  • Worksheets and learner guides
  • Applied learning activities
  • Assessment opportunities
  • CV builder and top tips

The UKSP Travel & Tourism resource pack is being piloted now – look for details in the next edition. In the meantime, take a look at both sites and encourage your learners to register as these sites contain a lot of valuable information on careers within the travel and tourism sector.

QCDA launches Diploma Validator

QCDA has launched a new web-based Diploma Validator tool to ensure that all Diploma students are on a valid programme of study. Curriculum planners can use the validator to create a programme of study from a combination of qualifications and other achievements and then check whether or not it is valid.

By using the Diploma Validator, practitioners are given early warning that their programme of study is invalid and give you the opportunity to change the combination of qualifications a learner is studying and recover any lost time on the course.
